I recently got a DS lite from the USA but I am unable to charge it even with a converter plug. When I try to charge it, the orange light flashes on quickly and then disappears. Is it possible to tell me how to go about this?

I have been reading about which keys to press since the DS Lite has a toggle rather than separate L and R keys. One answer talked about “shoulder keys” to reset it. Does anyone know exactly which keys to press to reset the games?
